Downtown Wilmington's flagship farmers market, running year-round in front of Thalian Hall. Local produce, baked goods, honey, plants, jams, seafood, and artisan crafts. One of the longest-running markets in the region — a Saturday morning institution.

Riverfront Farmers Market

Water St, Downtown Riverfront · Saturdays (Seasonal)

A seasonal market along the Cape Fear River with local vendors selling produce, flowers, prepared foods, and handmade goods. Gorgeous setting with river views. Runs spring through fall, with special holiday market editions in late November and December.

A midweek market on the grounds of a historic antebellum plantation north of Wilmington. Local farmers, bakers, and artisans in a shaded, bucolic setting. Great alternative if you can't make Saturday markets. Runs spring through fall.

Greenfield Lake & Downtown Riverfront

Wilmington celebrates Independence Day with fireworks at two prime locations: the downtown riverfront (launched over the Cape Fear River) and Greenfield Lake. Both draws massive crowds. The riverfront show is best viewed from the Riverwalk or Battleship Point across the water.

One of the Southeast's largest street festivals, Riverfest draws hundreds of thousands of visitors to downtown Wilmington every October. Two full days of live music on multiple stages, artisan vendors, carnival rides, and food along the Cape Fear riverfront. Free admission.

Azalea Festival

The North Carolina Azalea Festival is Wilmington's signature spring event — a week-long celebration featuring a parade, garden tours, live concerts, a street fair, and the crowning of the festival queen. One of the oldest and largest festivals in North Carolina, running since 1948.
