About This Event
Bluegrass in the Grove was born out of a simple idea with a long history. Growing up, all of us have fond memories of the historical site located just outside of our neighborhood. Poplar Grove has long been a local refuge with a small nature preserve we would walk down and a deep rooted history of a time gone by. Now, as Wilmington is growing, we find that this place that belongs to all could be taken away from us.
The nostalgia and reverence that we have for our history sparked an idea in the fall of 2024. What if we had a Bluegrass festival here? It was a perfect idea. The picturesque shady grounds with it’s historic cabins and barns were the ideal venue for a bluegrass festival. Bluegrass in the Grove Fest is an music festival that not only has music, but also family-friendly dance workshops, open jamming, and food. It’s a time to sit back and enjoy music and community.
Bring your families, chairs, and umbrellas. Food trucks and beer garden on site. No coolers, please.
